Carla Smith

Carla Smith serves as a Senior Youth and Family Counselor.

Carla_Smith.jpgCarla received a BA in Psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College, and a MSW from Loyola University Chicago. Her academic journey was enriched with many amazing experiences. She's studied abroad in Ghana and Thailand, and participated in multiple cultural and social organizations. Carla interned as a Therapist at Uhlich Children's Advantage Network (UCAN), as well as a Prevention Education Specialist at Between Friends Chicago. She's specialized in domestic violence work and group psychotherapy.

In 2014, Carla began working at Y.O.U. providing individual therapy with our elementary, middle, and high school youth, and young adults. As a SPARCS Therapist she provides trauma-informed group therapy to youth responding to chronic stress. In addition, Carla co-created, developed, and is coordinating Y.O.U's Clinical Culinary Program called "The Chew". Carla is very passionate about her work with youth and families and aspires to continue to grow in this field.
