Katherine grew up in Oak Park, IL and has always enjoyed being an active member in her community. During her time studying at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, she served a summer term as an AmeriCorps member with the Illinois Public Health Association. Katherine graduated with dual BA degrees in Anthropology and Sociology with a concentration in Public Health and Community Development. Katherine worked with Y.O.U. as an AmeriCorps Y.O.U.th Serve Member and then a Youth Development Specialist at Oakton Elementary School, and is excited to now continue her work at Old Orchard Jr. High as an Afterschool Program Manager.
Katherine’s two most meaningful life experiences have been working with children during volunteer service trips abroad in rural Ghana and Cusco in Peru. Katherine is excited to continue on the path of service to community through positive youth development during her time at Youth & Opportunity United.
