Megan Pilquist

Megan Pilquist is an AmeriCorps Serve Member at Washington Elementary.

Megan_Pilquist.jpgMegan, born and raised in Stillwater, MN, moved to Chicago to attend Loyola University Chicago where she earned degrees in Political Science and International Studies. She took advantage of her time in school to travel, visiting Tunisia twice with Loyola’s study abroad travel course, and spending a semester in London, England, where, as a Hansard Scholar, she interned with a member of the UK Parliament. However, the most influential part of her time in undergrad was working at the National Runaway Safeline where she provided crisis-intervention to runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth and their families.

In her free time, Megan volunteers at a women’s shelter in Chicago, bakes lots of cookies, and bikes around the city to find the perfect coffee shop to spend hours reading in.
