She brings to the organization more than 10 years of experience working in finance and accounting at a wide variety of non-profits, and a deep belief that the finance function of an organization should be intimately informed by the programmatic work to best support and enable mission fulfillment.
Melissa obtained a BS from the School of Communications at Northwestern University and spent time in the performing arts world before turning to business, later receiving her MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business with a focus on finance, accounting, and general management. Melissa is passionate about fulfilling organizational missions with smart principles, effective use of resources, and efficient operations, and is thrilled to be contributing towards the goals of Y.O.U. Melissa grew up in a military family traveling the world, but settled in the Chicago area in 2003. She lives with her husband and two beautiful daughters, Stella and June, in Wilmette and feels immensely fortunate to be surrounded by good friends, family, and colleagues.
