Management is the process of organising and directing resources in order to achieve business and organisational goals. Those resources include people, finances, materials, and information. To be a successful manager, you need skills in decision-making, financial analysis, and interpersonal relations (working with, directing and supervision people), as well as the ability to apply those skills in a context of constraints, opportunities, and alternatives.
Management can be learned in a number of fields: the most common in India being Marketing, Finance and Human Resource. Apart from these, management positions exist in almost all sectors; for example, as a manager you may be responsible for the management of systems, events or of retail. A B.Com and then an M.BA are the traditional training for all these areas.
The purpose of an M.BA education is to provide training in the theory and practice of business management. Professional management programs are based on the premise that people can learn to manage all types of business situations more effectively. M.BA programs not only help their students to develop skills that are highly valued by many employers, but the programs also present a theoretical context for solving many business problems.
