Office & Civil Servants Back
Both office and civil servant jobs involve spending long hours at a desk usually typing, answering phone calls or making appointments. Office professions include that of secretary, clerks, personal assistant and manager, technician and many more depending on the type of office. Civil servants are those in the Administrative and Bureaucratic Services such as a Collector, Vice Chairman of some state, Vice Chancellor of a University, Secretary of Chief Ministers etc...

Office and civil servant work requires different skills depending on your exact job description. In general however you will need to be well organised, presentable and easy to get on with. You will probably also need to have a variety of computer skills and be accustomed to using different computer packages like Word, Excel… etc. Your workload and the number of people that you interact with inside and outside the office or institution will differ drastically depending on whether you are working in a small understaffed office, a large busy office/ institution or a well-staffed & well-established office/ institution.
