Handicrafts, Art & Culture

Jobs in these fields vary from carpenter to fashion or jewelry designer, from dancing to acting or music. While some jobs, especially in the handicraft sector are considered quite ‘traditional’ or old-fashioned, all these jobs help to preserve culture and pass on knowledge and enthusiasm about your identity to others. All also allow for innovation and for expression of your personal ideas and style.
You will need to be very creative and also be able to imagine and visualize things, good observation and concentration skills will also be required. Awareness of aesthetics (what other people find attractive or beautiful) will also be useful. Training in your field of interest in not always essential if you have sufficient experience but professional training will always give you greater confidence in your abilities as well as teach you different artistic methods helping you to better your artistic skills. Secondly, being in contact with experts in the field, helps you to understand what the career is really about. Finally a great deal of enthusiasm for you work is essential in order to put forward your ideas and then ‘sell’ them to others. One should know how to be radical in their ideas but be practical enough to create original, inspiring work.
