Jada was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois in the Ashburn neighborhood. In 2014, she graduated from Martin Luther King Jr. College Preparatory High School where she was a majorette for the band, a member of the Math team, and also the Historian of the National Honors Society. After graduating, Jada continued her studies at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Huntsville, Alabama. Almost two years later, after having a baby boy in January of 2016, she decided to continue her education at Saint Xavier University where she will be graduating with her degree in Business Management in May of 2020. While studying at Saint Xavier University, in September of 2018, Jada was inducted into the Tau Sigma National Honor Society, Zeta Chapter as the secretary and this year she has been named the President.
Prior to becoming a VISTA, Jada worked for YouthWorks as a Site Director in Quad Cities, Iowa where she facilitated mission trips for a group of approximately seventy teenagers every week. During their mission trip experience, she taught them about building a relationship with God and provided them with community service opportunities to be able to witness poverty first hand. Jada is eager to see what this year holds as a VISTA because she can actually be the change she wants to see in the world and put action behind the passion that was built during her time at YouthWorks. Education is very important to her and to know that she can help provide children with additional educational enrichment opportunities for a better post-secondary lifestyle is an amazing feeling. Jada is excited to establish new relationships, help build promising futures for underprivileged young adults and children, and learn more about herself as she pushes forward in this rewarding career. Jada is grateful to have yet another opportunity to serve deserving children in local communities again.
In her free time, Jada enjoys going to the movies on $5.00 Tuesdays, traveling, discovering new adventures with her son, studying The Bible, and cracking jokes with her little sister.
