Kushagra was born in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. After graduating from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Kushagra spent time in India as a teacher and school worker for Tender Heart NGO and Bhumang Jhampaling Monastery. Upon returning from India, Kushagra worked in youth programming at Indo-American Center, a non-profit social service organization in the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago that provides a variety of services to immigrant and refugee families.
Kushagra has a great passion for social justice and advocating for communities that may not have a voice. He believes working with youth is a fantastic way to empower not only youth, but the community as a whole. During his free time, Kushagra loves to write, watch all kinds of films, and follow all of his favorite sports teams. Kushagra greatly appreciates his family and friends, especially his inspirational parents and younger sister, all of whom he believes are ideal role models in his life.
