Teresa Cortas, LCSW

Cortas.Teresa.jpgTeresa is currently the Director of Clinical and Outreach Services supervising Y.O.U's Youth and Families Counselors and the Community Case Manager. She became a licensed clinical social worker after obtaining her masters degree at University of Chicago Crown School of Social work.

Teresa's experience includes working with homeless youth in Anchorage, Alaska and Los Angeles, California, directing programs working with HIV/AIDS infected mothers and children, directing the largest family shelter in Chicago, and acting as Adjunct Faculty for second year masters students at  University of Chicago Crown School of Social work. In addition to her work at Y.O.U., Teresa has her own private practice to keep her in touch with direct service while honing her clinical skills.  As a long-time resident of Evanston, Teresa sees her work at Y.O.U. as a way to give back to her community who she says has given so much to her.
