Led by a talented STEM artist and entrepreneur, the Lewis-Sebring MakerSpace challenges students to think creatively and imagine a world of possibilities. Fueled by loyal and generous donors, this is a treasured gem within the Y.O.U. community. Join hundreds of other donors who have given time, talent, and treasure to continue to make this a unique and effortless way to drive students' imagination. Meet Morgan Steorra, Makerspace Program Manager

For more than a decade, Morgan Steorra has explored how technology, creativity, and community-based education can expand opportunities for young people outside traditional classrooms, and how hands-on learning can empower them to see themselves as problem-solvers, designers, and innovators. Since 2024, she has brought that experience to her work as a STEM educator and Makerspace Program Manager at Y.O.U. In the Lewis-Sebring Makerspace, she develops and facilitates STEAM programming, creating opportunities for young people to learn through making, experimenting, and collaborating in a welcoming, fun, and flexible environment. 

As an Evanston resident, she is especially committed to creating meaningful, accessible learning experiences for the youth and families in the community where she also lives. Morgan is passionate about making STEM feel inclusive, relevant, and creative. As she puts it:

“It’s about giving young people the tools, confidence, and space to turn their ideas into something real—to take risks and see their visions and possibilities become more concrete. Watching young people have fun and get excited as they surprise themselves and learn something new is a joy that’s unmatched. It's my ultimate goal to encourage youth to expand how they see themselves, and hopefully say, 'I can be a STEM person too.'”
