She taught at Chiaravalle Montessori School in Evanston for over 20 years before retiring from teaching in 2005.
Marti grew up in Glenview, and has lived in Evanston since 1976. She was introduced to Y.O.U. while on Northminster Presbyterian Church’s Mission and Society Committee. Marti was a member of Invest and served on the board of Evanston’s “I Have a Dream” project, a program co-sponsored by Northminster and St. Matthew’s churches. Currently Marti is a member of the Garden Club of Evanston, the Highland Garden Club, and serves as a commissioner on the Board of Commissioners of the Lighthouse Park District of Evanston.
Marti and her husband George have two grown daughters, Courtney and Kerry, who attended Evanston public schools. Marti and George enjoy going on bike trips, doing triathlons and cross-country running and downhill skiing.
