Tom Scott

Tom Scott has been a Board member since 2010, is a past President of the Board, and serves on the Finance and Advancement Committees.

In 2012 he retired as the Senior VP of Life and Group Operations at CNA Insurance in Chicago. His early career was spent at Washington National Insurance Company in Evanston where he served for a number of years as the company's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Actuary.

Tom was born in Evanston, and has lived here since 2002. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston where he chairs the Audit Committee. He is active in Evanston’s First United Methodist Church and volunteers his time in their soup kitchen and on their adult education committee. He also volunteers tax preparation services for low-income families and works with the homeless at the Interfaith Action of Evanston welcome center.

Tom graduated from the University of Michigan (and is still a diehard Wolverines football fan— Go Blue!). He has been married to his college sweetheart, Maryellen, for 48 years, and they have two adult children.
