Traci Brown-Powell

Traci is an educator, advocate, and aspiring Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) dedicated to serving individuals and families through trauma-informed care and relational support. For over two decades, she has worked at the intersection of education and community engagement, currently serving as an Instructional and Information Librarian Specialist at Evanston Township High School and facilitating the ETHS Books 'R' Us Youth Book Club.

Traci's foundational background in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration from Western Illinois University, combined with my current graduate studies in Pastoral Care and Counseling (Clinical Track) at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern University, informs her deep commitment to survivor-led support and community advocacy. She have served as a Title IX investigator volunteer at Moody Bible Institute, a court advocate for the Battered Women’s Shelter in Evanston, and a group facilitator for women overcoming crises at Naomi’s House and Reset Chicago.

Rooted in my home community of Evanston, Illinois, where she serves on the Youth Leadership Committee of Evanston, my mission centers on walking alongside individuals during key life transitions. Traci is deeply honored and excited to continue this work as a clinical intern at Y.O.U.
