After a busy spring for its Nominating Committee, Y.O.U.’s Board of Directors voted to elect 4 new members to 3-year terms at the beginning of its fiscal year in July. These new members will be critical advocates and leaders for the expanding mission of Y.O.U and have deep roots in the Evanston community and beyond.
Jonny Basofin is a Principal at Cloverleaf, a real estate firm, and a longtime nonprofit leader. He served eight years on the board of Childcare Network of Evanston, five as Chair, and is passionate about supporting youth-serving organizations in the community.
Alvin Bisarya, MD, is Vice President of Content Strategy and AI at Kaplan and has built a career at the intersection of healthcare, education, and innovation. He is a dedicated mentor and advocate for empowering young people through learning.
Walter Cade is Senior Vice President of Sales for NBC 5 Chicago, Telemundo Chicago, and NBCUniversal Advertising and Partnerships. With over 30 years of experience in sales and media, Cade brings deep knowledge of strategic partnerships and local engagement.
Dori Franck is a retired educator with over 40 years of teaching experience. A committed advocate for student growth and inclusion, Dori has held numerous leadership roles in curriculum development, teacher mentorship, and educational advocacy.
New Directors are elected annually by the Board of Directors after completing a nominating process chaired by David Hill. Y.O.U.’s Board of Directors is comprised of a diverse group of 22-24 individuals committed to supporting youth success in Evanston and Skokie. Board members bring backgrounds in nonprofit management, finance, law, education, human resources, and marketing/communications among other areas. Every board member demonstrates a strong commitment to Y.O.U.’s mission.
